CEO of P3iD Tech, Kevin Neal, Speaks at Capture 2019
As validated by Harvey Spencer Associates (HSA) research, the move for capture to the cloud is on with impressive market growth. A critical component of cloud capture is new security-related considerations and technologies. Mr. Neal’s presentation encompassed making capture viable for cloud usage with robust cyber-security technologies and a solid integration strategy.
The Demo
At Capture 2019, the focus of P3iD Tech’s demo presentation was to show the ease of use for DoxaScan Composer. All the while showcasing the extreme versatility to integrate cloud capture services to have a reliable road map for immediate as well as future considerations.
The demo consists of simple capture, with the TWAIN Direct scanner integration using a standard out-of-the-box Canon DR-M260 document scanner and DoxaScan Composer. Once the images are assembled in Composer, the documents are sent through an advanced cloud capture process using AI/NLP technologies. Finally, the metadata and images were integrated into OnTask flow automation to demonstrate a complete end-to-end solution.
P3iD Tech is grateful to our good friends at Canon for donating a scanner and the Canon WA10 network adapter. It’s a testament to the value of TWAIN Direct integrated with DoxaScan.
For our solution, we chose the industry-standard TWAIN driver with TWAIN Bridge technology paired with an out-of-the-box USB Canon DR-M260 scanner. The end result was that P3iD Tech created a mobile-friendly, cloud-enabled smart capture device, which deployed in six minutes!

The Speakers
This year’s Capture ’19 Conference, consisted of many engaging speakers which you have to attend in-person to truly appreciate so we will mention a few P3iD partners as highlights.
Joe Odore of The TWAIN Working Group gave an outstanding update and officially announced the public release of TWAIN Direct which is of significance for the future of scan-to-cloud solutions. Tom Setzer and Sam Schrage, covered the Accusoft technology portfolio and the benefits of their recognition technology tools. Accusoft is the developers of OnTask flow automation, which provides valuable tools needed in the capture industry.

The Events
The events were significant at Capture 2019, including the opening reception and dinner. The attendees were able to see familiar faces, as well as make new connections — one of the many benefits of attending HSA Capture conferences. This year marked the 15th anniversary for Capture; there was a special lobster feast event to celebrate. Per usual, the conference was well organized and delivered terrific value. Thanks to all the organizers who make this conference a success year after year!
Last, but certainly not least is Ralph Gammon of Document Imaging Report. Mr. Gammon sarcastically proclaimed this year, as a group, “we have solved all the world’s problems in one productive evening!“
